Final report cards for 5th-12th graders are available now for pick up in the school office. If you sent a self-addressed, stamped envelope, they will be mailed today. Our summer office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. We hope everyone has enjoyed their first week of summer break!
Due to the very wet conditions this week, our end of the year picnic will have to be moved inside. We will serve hot dogs, chips, and drinks in the lunchroom for the students in grades 4K and 1st-4th.
Report cards for 4K-4th grade will be sent home tomorrow, May 29th. Report cards for 5th-12th grade will be available for pick up in the school office beginning Friday, June 6th. Any 5th-12th grade parent who wishes to have their student's report card mailed to them will need to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the school office. Thank you.
Auction for Tornado Relief
I have some exciting news regarding Friday's OFA Silent Auction. Sunday evening, discussions began about the possibility of devoting some auction proceeds to aid with tornado relief. Yesterday, two tragic stories emerged regarding families that lost family members as well as their homes. While neither of these families have students that attend ALS, they both have close ties to several of our school families. I, along with the OFA Board and members that attended Monday evening's meeting, feel strongly that the entire proceeds from the auction should go to the Smith family and the Tittle family. The Smiths lost their two boys, and both parents will have extensive medical bills. The Tittles lost their father along with two of their nine children. Right now, their need is greater than our need.
At times like these it is difficult to be concerned about the "extras" that we would like to have. I have no doubt that the Lord will be greatly pleased by this decision, and He will be faithful to also provide our less urgent needs in His perfect timing. I ask that everyone make plans to attend the auction at 6:30pm on Friday, May 2. Come ready to make a difference in the lives of these two hurting families.
Relief for Tornado Victims
Abundant Life School will be collecting pillows, blankets, water bottles, and non-perishable snacks for relief efforts in Faulkner County. You may drop off these items this afternoon at student pick-up time at the crosswalk between the main and gym buildings. We will also take these donations tomorrow morning before we attempt to deliver. Please keep these families affected by the storms in your prayers.
