Important Dates: Mark Your Calendars!
Parents, Let me start by saying I hope you and your family have had a great summer. We are looking forward to the beginning of a brand new school year. It is always a blessing to be a part of what God is doing through Abundant Life School. I want to let you know of a few important events over the next two weeks as we prepare for school.
Saturday, August 9: OFA Workday. Each year we work to help get the campus ready for the upcoming year. The workday will be 8am-2pm. There will be jobs of all kinds, both indoors and outdoors. Feel free to bring tools and cleaning supplies in order to help get all of the necessary jobs completed. Bring the whole family since it is a great time to reconnect with old friends and get to know new families.
Tuesday, August 12, 7:00 and 7:30pm: New Family and 5th Grade Orientations. These orientation meetings will be conducted in the Band Hall. At 7pm we will provide information and address questions of all kindergarten through 4th grade new families. At 7:30pm we will provide information and address questions of all middle school and high school families. All 5th grade families (new and returning) are requested to attend in order to learn about all the changes that come along with middle school.
Sunday, August 17, 2:00-3:30pm: Open House. All students and families are invited for this annual event. Open House is a drop-in event that gives families an opportunity to meet their students' teacher(s). Elementary students may visit their classrooms and drop off school supplies. 5th-7th grade students will receive their schedule in the Main building lunch room, and 8th-12th grade students will receive their schedule in the Gym. After receiving their schedule and locker assignment, families will be free to visit with teachers in their classrooms and put items in their lockers.
I look forward to seeing you at these events, but most of all, I look forward to serving your family throughout the year as we support your family's efforts to raise up godly children. Sincerely, Justin Moseley Superintendent
Book/Facility Fees Due This Week
Facility fees and book fees are due on or before August 5 for incoming 4K-6th graders and August 8 for incoming 7th-12th graders. For families with multiple children please use the oldest child when determining due dates. Please take care of these fees on or before their due dates to avoid late fees. Our summer office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If you have any questions please contact the school office at (501) 835-3120.
I hope that everyone is having a great summer so far! As the school year approaches, I just want to remind all 7th-12th graders participating in athletics this year that they need to get an updated physical. Please try to have it done before school starts in August so that the coaches can begin their practices according to their plans. Also, please provide a copy of the physical form to the coaches so that they know that your child is cleared to play. The doctor should provide you with a form at the time of the visit. Thanks for all that you do to help, and we are all looking forward to a great year of athletics!
Final Report Cards
Final report cards for 5th-12th graders are available now for pick up in the school office. If you sent a self-addressed, stamped envelope, they will be mailed today. Our summer office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. We hope everyone has enjoyed their first week of summer break!
